My Space/Our Place is a series of touring photography workshops for state schools and communities in regional Queensland.

Glencore and The Queensland Art Gallery offered regional Queenslanders the opportunity to participate in a photographic workshop at selected regional venues during September 2015 as part of the exhibition The Photograph and Australia , which was exhibited at the Queensland Art Gallery in Brisbane in 2015.

My Space/Our Place consists of one-day photography workshops that teach the fundamentals of documentary-style photography to school students and members of the public, through a focus on the environment, landscape and people in each location. Participants will gain an understanding of the basics of digital photography as well as gaining practical experience making photographs, using their local community as the subject.

Participants' photographs from each workshop will be published on this website, and linked on the My Space/Our Place Facebook page.

The My Space/Our Place workshop facilitator is photographer Sean Davey, whose website can be viewed here.

My Space/Our Place is currently seeking sponsorship to facilitate our workshops in 2017. If you would like to support art in regional and rural areas, please contact us HERE.
